The Effects of Quitting

I'm going to make this quick and simple. I like to know, what's going on in my body. It puts me in a more understanding frame of mind.

We have receptor sites in our brain. Some of these sites are the home to a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is one of the things that help us feel pleasure.

Nicotine has a very similar physical shape as acetylcholine and can fit into the same receptors. When these site receptors are filled by nicotine, the person feels "High", initially. This is the "Feel Good" experience.

Once the sites have been taken up by the nicotine, they are not available for the acetylcholine. This means the body can't transmit nerve impulses as well as it otherwise would. The body and senses become "dull." *A bit of trivia: In large amounts, this blockage of nerve impulses would result in muscle paralysis and death. In fact, nicotine is used in natural insecticides and rodenticides to kill, in this very manner.

Back on track. In an attempt to cope with the abuse that the nicotine causes, the body makes more receptor sites. Our bodies are truly amazing things!

When one quits putting nicotine into the body, the levels of nicotine drop and the receptor sites become freed up. Our bodies then have too many receptor sites and too much acetylcholine. Now the person feels over stimulated, uncomfortable, jittery, nervous, anxious and moody. This is definitely the "Feel Bad" experience.

What nicotine based stop-smoking products do is to plug these receptor sites back up, so you can feel a sense of comfort. This is prolonging the agony. You still will have to withdraw. Instead of keeping the sites plugged up, the actual goal should be to reduce the blood level of nicotine to near-zero so that the body can begin to reduce the number of receptor sites in the brain.

The Quit Smokn™; Denicotizer/Anti-Addiction capsules do just that. They remove nicotine from the body, brain included, of course, and the brain can then eliminate the extra receptor sites. This brings the body back to normal and the central nervous system can become freed from the dulling effects of nicotine and nicotine products. See
